Stafford R. Edgerton, son of Andrew and Phebe Jane (Smith) Edgerton.
Stafford R. Edgerton, “of Wisconsin”, enlisted on
September 6, 1861 for service in the Union Army. He served as a private in the 3rd Wisconsin
Light Artillery Regiment. Stafford’s
younger brother, William, also served in the 3rd L.A. Regiment. Stafford Edgerton died at Savannah,
Tennessee on April 11, 1862 (see Roster of Wisconsin Volunteers: War of
the Rebellion, 1886). |
