According to the above census record, Mary had not had any children (incorrect).  William’s occupation was listed as “farmer”; and Albert was recorded as a “Ditcher”.

 

The following obituary for Mrs. Mary (Gordon) Edgerton was published in The Elyria Reporter on Thursday, September 26, 1901:

 

“Mrs. Mary Edgerton, who died at the her home in Columbia Monday morning, leaves a husband and one daughter.  The funeral will be held Wednesday at 10 o’clock from the home.  Burial will be in the Columbia cemetery.  Mrs. Edgerton was 68 years old.”
