Vermont, The Green Mountain State (Walter Hill Crockett, The Century History Co. Inc., N&, 1923; Vol. 5, pg 232) gives the following biography of William Bull Edgerton:

 

“William B. Edgerton, of Manchester, was born at Danby, November 14, 1867, and was educated in the common schools and at Burr & Burton Seminary, where he graduated in 1888.  He studied law in the office of Martin & Archibald at Manchester and was admitted in 1893.  He was school director, 1895-1920; Register of Probate, 1894-1898; Judge of Probate, 1898-1910.  He has practice at Manchester since his admission.”
