Buried in Shady Grove Cemetery in Paris, TX [S= Emogene Barnes 2-3-99]

According to Emogene Barnes' research: Rebecca drew widow pension from William Hill's service in Union calvery 1st ar. calv. co. E.( I dont think Rebecca ever drew pension from George, she filed for pension but married William before she got it. William Slusher ( Georges brother ) took custody of Rebecca,s children . and the children and William drew a pension. I looked up the court files on this custody thing but it didn't tell me anything. I think it was just a way for them to get a pension. 2-3-99

Hello from San Diego. I can help (sort of).

Currently I am unable to locate my MO Wilburn records. Sorry. But from the top of my head.I can tell you that Rebecca Wilburn descended from the Wilburns who once lived in Surry NC. I would not be able to tell you who her father was. However, I do have a hunch. Elliott Wilburn re-located to MO early on and so did his Uncle Edward Wilburn.

Edward's children have been identifed and therefore it would appear that Elliott is the likely suspect. Elliott was the son of Richard Wilburn b. Surry NC circa(1770-1848)

and Richard was the son of Edward Wilburn and Mary St. Clair. I feel certain that Edward was the son of Richard Wilburn circa( 1690-1758) in Goouchland VA.

Write me with a bit more info. Best wishes Vikky

In Oct 1997, while in Oklahoma City, I (MYW) had a search done for the death cert's for David and Mary Elizabeth Slusher for years between 1908 and 1917 - None exist with the info listed on family page.

In Eric's baby book Great grandmother married to David Slusher was POLLY ANN WOODWARD. Hank must have told Claire this, I think. (?????Who is she?????) The other g-grandparents were listed as Samuel Snow and Marie Tylor.

(Elizabeth was pregnant with Rachel M at the time) Rachel was mother of my father. Marcia.

See David Slusher (her father) More About Notes.

Notes for HENRY HARRISON SNOW:

Buried in Redden, Atoka Co. OK Old School House.

In 1972, I (MYW) wrote to State of Arkansas for the birth cert for HHSnow -- None exists. Not for Rachel Slusher Snow either.

My mother, Claire, wife of JH Snow says JH told her that his father Henry Harrison Snow, was working road construction when he was crushed between two boulders. He lived for a while (how long? We don't know) He died of his internal injuries.

ii. WILLIAM LEVI SLUSHER, b. 1872.

iii. MARY ELLEN SLUSHER, b. 1873.

Notes for MARY ELLEN SLUSHER:

Patricia Cox writes: Parents of Mary Ellen Slusher were Benjamin Slusher and Mandi Taylor. Mary Ellen's grandmother was AMANDA REBECCA SLUSHER (Hill) known as GRANNY HILL in later years." I (MYSW) believe that David Slusher and Mary Elizabeth Self are her parents. I was told by Rachel Slusher Snow's sons [ Hank, Dee, and Edward Snow ] that Rachel and Mary Ellen were sisters.

iv. MARTHA ELIZABETH SLUSHER, b. 1875.

v. AMANDA J. SLUSHER, b. 1876.
