Joseph
Walker, as part of his mother's application for
a pension, mentioned
his own family Bible as having his own birth date
copied into it. Unfortunately, his widow stated in her
own application for a pension much later that the family
Bible was stolen during the Civil War.
Given the circumstances, the chances of this Bible
still existing and being discovered with intact family
records are quite slim. As has been found for Joseph's
brother, Edward Jr., the possibility does arise that
one of the children made a copy of those records, however.
