Anna Walker was a daughter of Edward and Mahala (Tussey) Walker and was born 18 April 1830 probably at her parents' home on Mulberry Creek and died sometime after 1880 probably on Bear Creek.

She was married in about 1850 probably in Hancock County to William Munsey, born 3 April 1832 probably in Lee County, Virginia, who died sometime after 1880. They had at least 9 children and settled in the Lone Mountain/Bear Creek area. William was the son of James and Nancy (Owens) Muncy and probably changed the spelling of his name to Munsey. He was also brother to John who married Sabra Walker. The couple's burial locations are not known but could be in Campbell or Gose Cemetery on Bear Creek.

Almost nothing is known of this couple. They have not been found beyond the 1880 Census nor have several of their married children. Bill does appear to have been conscripted into a Confederate unit in East Tennessee, although whether he willing joined or not is unknown. He was wounded 3 June 1864 at Cold Harbor, Virginia, and he deserted 3 January 1865 from a picket line but was captured and sent to City Point, Virginia. He took the loyalty oath. Others in the unit included an as-yet unidentified John Walker, conscripted in East Tennessee 18 April 1864 who deserted at Petersburg, Virginia, 5 April 1865, and Robert G. Yoakum, conscripted in Tennessee the same day who deserted at Hanover Court House, Virginia, 25 May 1864.
