There are a number of photos included as part of this
Web site; in most cases, you can click on a photo to
see a full-size version. You can always right-click
a photo and choose "Save As..." to save a
copy to your computer.
An increasing number of photos, however, are being
posted to my Public
Gallery on Picasa Web Photos. That site offers download
options and an easy way to browse through large numbers
of photos. If you download
Picasa, which is a free picture-organizing program
from Google, you can also download all the photos in
an album in just one click. The photos in my Public
Gallery are standard jpg files, and you do not have
to install Piscasa to use the site or download the images.
Maps
I am beginning to start an extensive map, beginning
with Walker
Map of Mulberry Area (beta),
of Walker-related landmarks in areas important in 18th
and 19th centuries. You do not need to install any software
to use the maps. However, if you are a fan of Google
Earth, you can incorporate all of the sites easily;
just click the "View in Google Earth" link
when the map is in view, and all of the places marked
on the map will be imported into Google Earth.
Google Earth is a free program, and you can download
Google Earth and install it yourself. The Walker
Map works just fine without Google Earth, although Google
Earth has a few more options and is a useful tool. As
with the photos, you do not have to install Google Earth
unless you want to do so.
