Andrew Calvin Walker - Various Medical Documents

Dr. Andrew Calvin Walker, about 1923

Andrew Calvin Walkeroffsite link to WorldConnect was a doctor in Forkvale, Norma, Caryville, and elsewhere over the years and generated a number of documents as well as received a number of advertisements and such. Several known documents are included on this page including two birth registrations. Unfortunately, most of his records were destroyed many years ago, and what is on this page is all that I know to exist.

Andrew's grandson, Robert Walker, son of Ruby, supplied copies of these items.

Andrew practiced from about 1889 until the early 1920s when illness, some sort of kidney problem, forced him to stop practicing. He died in 1926.

At times he spits Blood &c. coughf [sic] especially at night and I believe him incapacitated for manual labor to the extend of at least ¾.

Some of Andrew's medical recipes called for alcohol. Apparently, he may have obtained that alcohol through mail order from Chattanooga.
