QuickFacts: Union County
Wikipedia: Union County

Union County, formed in 1854, was and is home to many of the Walkers. In the 1850s, at least, our Walkers tended to settle northeast of Maynardville in the area of Walker's Ford, Nave Hill, Hickory Valley, and Sharp's Chapel, including, for the most part, areas that were in Grainger County before the establishment of Union County. There have been significant groups of non-related Walkers living in Union County over time.
