and died 10 September 1783. He married Susannah Jones 1 January
1771 in Saint Matthews Parrish, Georgia, USA4, daughter of Francis Jones
and Elizabeth Huckabee. She was born Abt. 1753 in South Carolina,
USA. Robert's birth place New Hanover Co, NC became Duplin Co, NC in 1750,
and is also listed birth place in many records. On 16 September 1777
he was appointed Commissioner of Road by the General Assembly of Georgia.
At the dawning of the Revolutionary War he was commissioned First
Lieutenant of the 2nd Battalion, 1st Regiment of the upper District of
St Matthews Parish in the Georgia Militia. He died of wounds he received
in a battle with the Tories. According to DAR Lineage Book ,volume 117,pg.
186; Robert died 10 September 1783.
Robert Dickson was granted land
in St Matthews Parrish, Georgia (1 September 1772) He sold 100 acres of
the land to John Smith (Deed Book A, Screven County, Georgia, pg 286)

13. James4 Dickson (Allen
Jones3, Robert2, ???1) was born 1806 in Bulloch County, Georgia, USA, and
died 1864 in Pierce County, Georgia, USA. He married Mehalia Lankford
7 April 1829, daughter of Moses Lankford. She was born 1811, and
died 1884. James moved from Bulloch to what is now Pierce County, Georgia,
USA about 1854. Some time after that he bought (on what is now State Highway
121) land between Baxley and Blackshear. He lived there until he died in
1864. His grave at Shiloh was unmarked.

1833 in Bulloch County, Georgia, USA; died 31 August 1864 in Jonesboro,
Georgia, USA. He married Emily Gibbs 26 January 1853; born 6 July
1839; died 27 August 1912 in Montgomery County, Georgia, USA. Following
their marriage John and Emily moved to Appling County, Georgia, USA.
He was a farmer there until the beginning of the Civil War. He enlisted
in in the Georgia State Troops, and mustered into Company "A", 1st
Brigade on 3 October 1861, for a six months tour of duty. He
mustered out early April 1862 and then on 18 April 1862 he and most of
the members of Company "A" joined the Confederate Army Company "K",
54th Georgia Volunteer Regiment. He was shot and killed, near Jonesboro,
Georgia, by the enemy while throwing up breastworks.
After the war Emily took the children
home with her to Montgomery County, Georgia. On 28 April 1891 she applied
for a widow's pention from Montgomery County, Geogia. It was granted and
drew the pention until her death.
Mrs Emily Dickson applied for a
Confederate Soldier's Widow Pension 29 April 1891 in Montgomery County,
Georgia, USA. It was granted, and she drew it until she died.
27 v. Elizabeth Dixon, born
24 June 1834 in Bulloch County, Georgia, USA; died 22 January 1913 in Pierce
County, Georgia, USA. She married Griffin "Soddy" Dixon10,11 Abt.
1857; born 7 June 1835 in Bulloch County, Georgia, USA; died 22 November
1918 in Pierce County, Georgia, USA. Griffin was Benjamin's twin and he
and Elizabeth were first cousins. Griffin enlisted in the Confederate States
Army on 9 January 1862 and served until 31 March 1862. He then enlisted
in Company A of the 4th Georgia Calvary on 1 May 1862. He was transferred
to Company G and then to Company C. While serving he was captured
at Cabbage Bluff, Georgia on 1 February 1864. He was paroled in Delaware,
at Fort Delaware in February 1865. He was exchanged for a union soldier
on 7 March 1865.
28 vi. Elijah Dickson12,13,
born 1838 in Bulloch County, Georgia, USA; died 16 August 1863. He
married Keziah "Kizzie" Griffis; born 12 November 1838 in Appling County,
Georgia, USA; died 29 June 1894 in Pierce County, Georgia, USA. Elijah
enlisted in Company A, 1st Regiment, 1st Brigade, Georgia state troops
on 3 October 1861. He Mustered out in April 1862. He then enlisted as a
private in Company K of the 54th Georgia Infantry 18 April 1862. He was
killed in the line of duty.
29 vii. Elisha Dickson14,15,16,
born 1838 in Bulloch County, Georgia, USA. He married Seneath Persia
O'Quinn Abt. 1865. Elisha served in the Confederate States Army. He enlisted
3 October 1861 and was paroled at Thomasville, Georgia 19 May 1865.
30 viii. Adam Dixon, born
1840. He married Martha A Winn.
31 ix. Malachi Dixon, born
1842; died May 1863 in Chancellorsville, Virginia, USA. Company "A", 50th
Georgia Regiment
Died in the service of the Confederate
Army. He had never married.

14. Barbara4 Dickson
(Allen Jones3, Robert2, ???1) was born 1807 in Bulloch County, Georgia,
USA, and died Bef. 1860. She married Elijah Aspinwall17 17 October
1820. He was born 29 April 1790 in Brookline, Suffolk County, Massachusetts,
USA, and died Aft. 1860. Another possible marriage: Barbary Dickson married
Jordon Bozet/Boyett on 27 November 1851both of Bulloch County, John Green

Elijah was a farmer, but one of
the interesting events of his live occurred in his young adulthood. Elijah
served in the Navy during the War of 1812, where it was common practice
for the sailors of a victorious naval battle to divide the valuables of
the captured ship. Elijah was one such sailor and received about $10,000
in gold as his share. He was also clever because he hid his in a copper
canister on the banks of the Savannah river. He was captured by the British
and held as a prisoner of war and later released at Charleston, South Carolina,
USA.
He went back to Savannah to recover
his gold. He was residing in town when without much cause when Allen Dickson
came to town to buy supplies. Allen hired him to work on his farm. While
working there he began courting Allen's daughter "Barbary". His proposal
was accepted by Miss Dickson and by her father, when he was told that Elijah
was in possession of such an amount of gold.
It is believed that he outlived
his wife as he is found living alone in the 1860 Pierce County, Georgia,
USA census.

in Pierce County, Georgia, USA. He married Missouri A E Roberts 26
November 1863 in Appling County, Georgia, USA; born in Appling County,
Georgia, USA. Allen served in the Civil Ware as a soldier in the 4th Georgia
Calvary (CSA). While serving he was injured by a horse and sent home.
In civilian life he was a farmer,
miller, hotel owner and a dentist. He also served one term at the Pierce
County sheriff. As a Dr. Brown would take his dental chair to someone's
home, and treat several folks in the area before moving to a different
location. He and his wife owned a hotel called the Brown Hotel. They were
considered to have provided excellent food and service. Allen was buried
in Blackshear Cemetery.
47 ii. Jincy "Jane" Brown,
born 4 April 1839 in Bulloch County, Georgia, USA; died 9 June 1931 in
Pierce County, Georgia, USA. She married Benjamin Colson Davis 14
February 1861 in Pierce County, Georgia, USA; born 30 May 1835 in Ware
County, Georgia, USA; died 14 March 1884 in Pierce County, Georgia, USA.
Jincy and Benjamin are buried at Shiloh Cemetery, Pierce County, Georgia.
The Davis home was about four miles southeast of Blackshear.

He married Sarah Jane Jones 21 February 1867; born 31 March 1851; died
1 April 1938. James served as a soldier in the 4th Georgia Calvery (CSA).
He is buried in Shiloh Cemetery, Pierce County, Georgia.
