I. Lawrence Egbert (1/20/1724-1780) c. 3/14/1724, son of James & Catharine (Deny) Egbert, m. 1744, Sarah Blacklege, c. 8/1800 at an advanced age, Port Richmond, Staten Island, NY. In 1783 PA supply tax, Philadelphia Co., had 60 acres, 1 horse, 1 cattle. Large farm in Whitemarsh, PA, his horses, wagons & 1 son pressed into service in Rev. War. He was youngest of 12 ch., by 1865 he was teller in First National Bank of Mechanicsburg, 1868 elected cashier. Served in PA Militia in 1862 & in 1863 joined 49th Reg., PA State Mil. under Col. John Murphy, 2 ch., 1 living in 1886. 1880 census shows res. in 1st Ward, Mechanicsburg, Cumberland, PA, with a servant, Susan Palmer.
