I Eleanor Udall late of Cowbank in the Parish of Ravenstonedale and County of Westmorland but now presiding at Coldbeck in the Parish of Ravenstonedale do make publish and declare this my last will and testament in the manner and form following:
That is to say. - I give and bequeath to my friend Sarah RENNISON of Coldbeck all my bills bonds monies and personal estate.

In the name of God, Amen, I George Udal of Weesdale in the Parish of Ravenstondale in the County of Westmorland heretofore Wharfinger in the City of London being of sound perfect & disposing Mind & Memory do make publish & ordain this my last Will & Testament in Manner & form following; That is to say....
I give & bequeath unto my five brothers John UDAL, Thomas UDAL, James UDALE, William UDAL & Septimus Parkin UDAL to each & every of them the full sum of Eighty Pounds.
Also I give & bequeath unto my Sister Peggy UDAL the full Sum of one Hundred and Fifty Pounds.
All which said legacies I will & order to be paid to the several above mentioned Legatees at four Months after my Decease by my Executors herein after mentioned. And provided my abovementioned Brother James UDAL shall die before the Expiration of the said four months then his said legacy of Eighty Pounds to be divided among his children share & share alike.
All the Rest, Residue & remainder of my Bills, Bonds, Moneys, Goods, Chattels & personal Estate whatsoever & wheresoever if not otherwise disposed of in my Life time I give & bequeath unto my Father Joseph UDAL whom I hereby nominate constitute and appoint sole Executor of this my last Will & testament, he duly paying & discharging all my just Debts, Funeral Expences & Legacies in manner & Form as abovementioned.
In witness whereof I the said George UDALE have herunto set my Hand & Seal this fourth Day of November in the Year of our Lord one Thousand eight hundred and three.

In the name of God Amen. I John Udale of Ravenstondale Town in the Parish of Ravenstondale in the County of Westmorland, yeoman, being of sound perfect and disposing mind memory and understanding (blessed be Almighty God for the same) and considering the Uncertainty of this Life Do make publish and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and Form following, that is to say I give and devise unto my Brothers William UDALE of Langholm in North Britain and Septimus Perkin UDALE of Ravenstondale Town and to their Heirs and Assigns for ever, All that my Freehold Estate messuage and Tenement situating lying and being at and about Weesdale in the said parish of Ravenstondale in the County of Westmorland aforesaid, And also all that my half share in a Freehold Estate messuage and Tenement called Hollinhall at Weesadale in the Parish and County aforesaid, which I and my Brother Septimus Perkin UDALE have in common betwixt us Share and Share alike in every respect, Together with all Lands Grounds Edifices, Buildings Hereditaments, Premises and Appurtenances whatsoever belonging and appertaining to my Freehold Estate at Weesdale and half Share in the Freehold Estate at Hollinhall, to be divided between my said two Brothers equally share and share alike eitherby mutual consent between the Parties or by arbitration or by Sale. To have and to hold All the said Freehold Estate and Share in a Freehold Estate with the Hereditaments Premises and Appurtenances thereunto belonging and appertaining unto them my said Brothers William UDALE and Septimus Perkin UDALE and to their respective heirs and assigns forever. And also I give and devise unto my above named Brothers William UDALE and Septimus Perkin UDALE and to their heirs and Assigns for ever All those my Tithes of what nature or kind soever yearly coming, growing increasing or arising out of or from my above devised Estates, messuages and Tenements and Premises abovementioned, Together with all moduses Prescriptions or Payments for or in lieu of Tithes, to be divided equally share and share alike between my said two Brothers in manner as above mentioned. To have and to hold all and singular the said Tithes with their Appurtenances unto them the said William UDALE and Septimus Perkin UDALE and to their Heirs and Assigns forever. Also I give and bequeath unto my Sister Peggy SMITH Wife of Michael SMITH, the full sum of Thirty Pounds to be paid to her by my Executors, herein after mentioned at twelve months after my Decease. Also I give and bequeath unto the seven children of my late brother James UDALE deceased, the full Sum of Thirty Pounds to be divided equally share and share alike among them and to be paid at twelve months after my Decease to such as shall have attained the Age of twenty one Years and to the Remainder as they shall attain the respective Ages of twenty one Years and in case any of the said seven children shall die before the Expiration of twelve months after my Decease or before he, she or they shall attain the age of twenty one years, then that or those Share or Shares shall be divided equally among the Survivors. Also I do hereby give and bequeath unto my said Brothers William UDALE and Septimus Perkin UDALE all my Bills, Moneys, Household Goods and personal Estate whatsoever or wheresoever they duly paying and discharging the above mentioned legacies and also all my just Debts and Funeral Expences. And I do also hereby constitute and appoint them my said Brothers William UDALE and Septimus Perkin UDALE jointly whole and sole Executors of this my last Will and testament. In Witness whereof I the said John UDALE have hereunto set my Hand and Seal this fifth Day of June in the fifty fifth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Third, by the Grace of God, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, King Defender of the Faith and so forth and in the year of our Lord One thousand eight Hundred and fifteen.

Joseph UDALE, Weasdale, p. Ravenstonedale, yeoman, 1812
In the name of God amen, I Joseph Udale of Weasdale in the Parish of Ravenstonedale and County of Westmoreland Yeoman, being weak in body, but of perfect mind and memory: do make publish and Ordain, this to be my last Will and Testament, in manner and form following;
(Viz) First I give and bequeath unto my Housekeeper Elizabeth STEPHENSON the sum of Three Pounds & Three Shillings conditionaly that is to say, if she be living with me at the time of my decease, Otherwise it is an elapsed Legacy.
Also it is my Will that my Watch and wearing Apparel be divided amongst my three Sons, John UDALE, William UDALE, & Septimus Perkins UDALE, equaly.
Also it is my Will that my Books and household furniture be divided equaly amongst my three sons before mentioned and my Daughter Peggy SMITH, who is now living at Stourport in Worcestershire:
And as to all my husbandry Utensils, also Cow or Cows, Maze, hay, Fogg, and all other of my personal effects, together with my Estate known by the name of Holling Hall, be sold in order to defray all my just debts, Funeral Expences, and Legacys hereafter mentioned, (But if my Three sons and Daughter Peggy SMITH before named which I appoint to be my Executors & Executrix can agree to fix the price of the Holling Hall amicably amongst themselves and one of them to take it I had much rather, if not they must sell it in publick sale) the rest, residue or remainder of the money after my debts and funeral expences to be paid, I will and Ordain that it be divided into five equal shares, four of them I nominate and appoint for the use and benefit of my three Executors and Executrix, the other remaining share I will and ordain it to be under the care of my son John UDALE, for the use and benefit of seven grandchildren which I have living at this time at Kirkby-Stephen (Viz) Isabella UDALE, Peggy UDALE, Joseph Robert UDALE, John Hewetson UDALE, Sally UDALE, George UDALE, & James UDALE. My son John UDALE is to be accountable for this and to pay them each respectively in the following manner, that fifth share he is to subdivide into seven shares equaly, and to pay each of them their equal share when they arrive at the age of Twenty one, If any of them die before they be Twenty one years of age that is to be an elapsed Legacy and to remain in my Son John Udale's hand undisturbed, neither is he to be accountable for any Interest which ariseth from that money, he is to have that for his trouble and care:

Daniel ULLISON of Leavens, will dated 1682
In the name of God Amen I Daniel Ullison of Leavens in the County of Westmoreland being sick of Body but of disposing memory Doe make and ordaine this my last Will and Testament in manner and forme following ffirst I comend my soule to Allmighty God & my body to Christian buryall and as for my Temporall estate I dispose of the same as is hereafter expressed ffirst I revoke and make void all Wills by me formerly made and doe hereby declare this to be my last Will and Testament Item I give to Thomas Lowcock ffive Guinnies and to Mrs Lury the housekeeper at Leavens one Guiney To Widdow Holme for waiting upon me ffive shillings All the rest of my Personall estate I doe hereby give and bequeath unto the said Thomas Lowcock and doe hereby nominate and appoint him the said Thomas Lowcock to be sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament hee paying out thereof my funeral expences and whatsoever shall be due at the time of my death for his Phisick care and paines or otherwise and alsoe all other my debts and Legacies In witnesse whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seale this ninth Day of January Anno Dm One thousand six hundred eighty two Daniel Ullison
