BROWN, 79, of 341 Town Drive, Greencastle, died at 8:42 a.m. Satu rday, Jan. 31, 2004, in her home. She had been in failing health the pa st several months.Born Sept. 7, 1924, in Grafton, W.Va., she was the daugh ter of the late Edmond James and Avon (Lemon) Glover.She was a gradua te of Grofton High School and Fairmont Teachers College, Fairmont, W.Va.S he and her husband, Alfred R. "Dick" Brown, were married Sept. 6, 194 7, in Bridgeport, W.Va.Mrs. Brown was a homemaker.She also was an elementa ry school teacher in Ohio, West Virginia, Maryland and Greencastle, whe re she taught students in the handicapped/orthopedic class.Mrs. Brown w as a member of the Frank L. Carbaugh American Legion Post 373 Ladies Auxil iary and a social member of Harry D. Zeigler VFW Post 6319, both of Greenc astle. She volunteered many hours at Greencastle-Antrim primary and eleme ntary schools. Mrs. Brown attended First United Methodist Church, Greencas tle. Earlier in her life, she attended Nazarene and Baptist churches.She e njoyed cooking, reading and crocheting.In addition to her husband, Mrs. Br own is survived by two daughters, Sherri Brechbiel of State Line and Ti na Warfield of Shady Grove; �u��b�one sister, Cleta Evilsizer of Wellsville, Ohi o�/u��/b�; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Alfred D ent Brown in 1973, and one brother, Charles Glover.Services will be he ld at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Greenc astle, with the Rev. David G. Rawley officiating. Burial will be in Parkla wns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.The family will receive friends one ho ur prior to the services Wednesday in the funeral home.The family reques ts the omission of flowers. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of t he Good Shepherd, 2700 Luther Drive, Chambersburg, Pa. 17201.
