Child to Be Placed in Children's Home
Where Mirrill Will Pay for His Support - Case Was Tried in 'Squire's Court
The story of the domestic. troubles of Pearl Mirril and his wife were told in 'Squire Crow's court Friday morning, the same coming out when the hearing in the case of Pearl, charged with nonsupport of his four year old adopted son, took place. The two have had trouble, and separated and the neglect of the child naturally followed.
Mirrill was arrested on Wednesday and his case was continued until this morning. The Humane Society represented by Attorney C. H. Duncan, prosecuted the case. The testimony tended to show that since Mirrill and his wife had separated the child had been cared for at the home of ML. and Mrs. Charles Brandsterter in Miami street and that Mirnill had contributed but fifty cents toward the support of the little fellow.
Mirnill had but little defense other than that he had been sick and hurt for the past two weeks and was unable to do anything for the child. He was fined $10 and costs and the fine was suspended pending the completion of arrangements to be made for having the boy admitted to the Children's Home where Mirrill is to pay for his keep.
