At the case of Rolla SHOFSTALL, in Springfield, the prosecuting witness, Eva RICHESON, failed to appear, adjournment was held for an hour waiting for the Train from St. Paris, but still no Eva RICHESON. Her parents arrived for the trial, but could not explain the absence of their daughter. Sheriff McLAIN alerted his officers to keep lookout, but her friends admit she does not wish to testify. The case was continued to Monday, December 20th

The parents of Eva Richeson and her brother John Teshford, received a $1,000 offer by attorneys in this city from Shofstall for the settlement of case. Newxt term was continued.
[31328] Eva Richeson, principal witness in St Paris rape case has been found and is under bond. She has been in Portland Indiana for the past 6 months. It will be remembered that Rollo Shofstall and Dayton Snyder, both Dayton boys were arrested last fall and relseaed under bond. The case was continued from Dec to Jan and then to May because the Richeson girl had failed to show. The Richeson girl will be tried on Contempt of Court.
