THEODORE
HOLDEN, FORMERLY OF SACKETS HARBOR, DIES

Theodore Holden,
79, a former resident of this section, died at the home of his daughter,
Mrs. C.F. Meck at Fredonia, Kansas, on Jan. 17, it was learned here today
by his brother, Seward Holden of Watertown Center.
Mr. Holden was born
Aug. 19, 1850, near Sackets Harbor, a son of Aaron and Orrilla Holden, and
was one of a family of ten children. He married Miss Adelia Ellsworth of
Sackets Harbor in this city, April 13, 1875. She died Aug 17, 1920.
Five children were
born to the union, all of whom survive. They are: Gilbert T. Holden,
Oswego, Kansas; Mrs. Olive Lambert, Red Oak, Oklahoma; Mrs. Nellie Meck,
Fredonia, Kansas; Mrs. Flossie Robinson, Claremore, Okla; and Mrs. Milly
Flaharty, Baxter, Iowa. He also leaves four brothers, Seward Holden of
Watertown Center; Walter Holden of Sandy Creek; Emmett Holden and Myron
Holden, Puyallup, Wash; 17 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews,
some of whom reside in this section.
Mr. and Mrs. Holden
moved from Sackets Harbor to Fredonia in 1881 and in 1889 they returned to
their state and resided for two years with Seward Holden. They then
returned to Fredonia to reside on their farm.
Funeral services
were held Jan. 19 and burial was made at Fredonia cemetery.
