To the side of the Church, behind a well known fence, is the cemetery, the resting place of many of the earliest settlers of Vermont, among them members of the Fay family. Beginning with Captain Stephen Fay, whose grave lies under the church he helped to make possible, while his tombstone lies near the gate entrance, and following down the years, many Fays have found peace here in the shadows of the Green Mountains.
