The following two groups of photographs from the cemetery at Carleton, Michigan, were provided by Dennis Michaels, a descendant of William and Betsey Laura, and through Betsey, of Jonathan Fay.

The first group is the Laura group. It includes two headstones: William and Betsey Laura; and their granddaughter Gertrude M. Laurie. The spelling of the last name changed back and forth over the years; in the census of 1910, Gertrude M. is shown as the 7th child of Robert Laurie and his wife, while William and two sons, Edward and John, seem to have kept the spelling "Laura." In 1880, the name is "Lury."

Betsey Laura was the daughter of Jonathan and Fanny Swap Fay. She was born in 1851, the 7th of their children.
