Near Edwin Reed Fay and Jane Maria Van Vechten are two family groups, Reed and Van Vechten. Their monuments can be seen in this photograph of the mausoleum. The Reed monument is closer to the mausoleum; the Van Vechten one a bit further. Both are located in the area called Linden View, adjacent to Ridgeland.

JAMES AND CHARLOTTE REED
   
James Reed was born September 2, 1810, and died June 6, 1901. Charlotte A. Canfield was born in 1818, died April 5, 1895. They seem to have had no children. James Reed was Johanna Reed's brother and brother in law to Brigham Fay, uncle to Edwin. (see, for example, Auburn's Fort Hill Cemetery, by Lydia J. Rosell, page 60.

Edwin Fay married Jane Maria Van Vechten. William Page Van Vechten was her brother; William C. Van Vechten was her father. Caroline, wife of Wadsworth Hollister, was Jane's sister.
