James Israel and Chloe Torry had several children, of whom only one, Silas, is reported by Orlin P. Fay (p. 235). The line has been extensively documented by Charles Peterson at Selvage and Peterson Families and More. The children recorded by Charles are:

*Russel is said to be the child of a second spouse but the dates prove that he must be the child of Chloe.

Who's Where When: Evidence from the Census

New York / Pennsylvania / Iowa

Hiram married early in the 1840's, and had four children before 1850. He left New York with his young family (wife Lucy, children Hiram Orson or Orson Hiram, Arvilla and Lauretta; Adam, the oldest child, seems to have died in infancy), and resettled in Iowa, arriving there about 1856. He travelled with his brother Horace and his family. By 1850, they had reached Pennsylvania. By 1860 they were in Iowa, where Lauretta and James Wilson's family lived for two generations.
