Lincoln is the only child of David and Jane Ward whose line is carried a couple of generations further by Orlin. Census records make it possible to bring it down further yet.

Lincoln married Merena Hatch on May 9, 1821. She was born April 2, 1799, to Thomas and Molly Prouty Hatch. She died June 1876. Merena was one of 12 children, whose births are recorded in Spencer to Thomas and Molly. Her brother Lyman married Polly Fay, Lincoln's sister.
