MABEL FAY JONES

Sudden Death of Estimable Woman Formerly of this Town.

Mrs. Mable Fay, wife of Fred L. Jones, passed away at her home on the morning of April 4, at South Danbury, after a short and critical illness. She was the youngest daughter of Charles L. and Sarah E. Fay. She was born in Hill, March 8, 1878. Funeral services were held in the church at South Danbury, Thursday afternoon, the Rev. Mr. Richmond officiating, with W. W. Webster as director and singing by the church choir. Interment was in the family lot in the village cemetery. Beside her husband, she leaves two lovely little boys, an aged mother who resided with her, two sisters, Mrs. Charles Moore of Haverhill, Mass., Mrs. Sadie Boyce of Derry; six brothers, Charles, Loren and Ulysses Fay of Danbury, Averill, Elwin and Irvin Fay of Derry, who were the six bearers.
The many beautiful flowers at the funeral bore silent testimony of the esteem in which she was held. She was a member of the Baptist church in West Derry, being baptized by the Rev. J. H. Nichols. Her place in her immediate family cannot be filled. Husband, children, mother, brothers and sisters have met with an irreparable loss, but what is their loss is her gain. All the bereaved ones have the heartfelt sympathy of many neighbors and friends.

A precious one from us has gone,
A voice we loved is still
A place is vacant in the home
Which never can be filled.

God in His wisdom has recalled
The boon His love hath given;
And though the body slumbers here,
The soul is safe in Heaven.
