On page 17 appears an "Explanation of the Following Genealogical Tables" followed by a very short list of the abbreviations used in the book. After that appears the following:

This work is divided into four parts, namely, the descendants of the four sons of our common ancestor, John Fay, as follows:
Descendants of John Fay 2.
Descendants of Samuel Fay.
Descendants of David Fay.
Descendants of Gershom Fay.

The first two (short) lists, however, are of the daughters Ruth (page 18), Deliverance (page 18) and Mary (pp. 18-21).

Orlin includes many biographies of various Fays and Fay descendants; each of the four sections is followed by a section entitled "Biographical Sketches."

Remember as you access the pages that these are images and will take a while to load.
