William Ward Fay and his family removed from Southboro, Mass., to Fitzwilliam, N.H., before 1798 since he is listed in 1798 as owning a total of 30 acres of ground, his house being No. 9, on Lot 10, and having a value of $40 in Fitzwilliam (Norton, John F. - History of Fitzwilliam, N.H. page 181, "Owners and Occupants of Houses, 1798") He is taxed in Fitzwilliam for 7 years, 1800-1806. The births of his 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th children are recorded in Fitzwilliam, as well as the baptisms of his 1st and 6th children.
