Several years had passed and another grandson, Liam, was born and became interested in trains as is his older brother, Emerson, the engineer on my Hanlon Express wall hanging.
For Christmas 2012, I made The Hanlon Express Quilt for Liam featuring him as the engineer with his brother and 14 cousins riding as passengers and Curtis, the family cat, in the caboose.
I also made tree ornaments from the same engine pattern with our family members as the engineers and used them on our tree along with my collection of train ornaments from past years. So it was truly a "Train Christmas."
