Coffee Creek Baptist Church met in regular session first Saturday in July 1884 after prayer and short exhortation a season was spent in conference after which the minutes of previous meeting was called for, read and approved. References taken up and disposed of as follows: Report of committee on reviewing church Book accepted and 19 names ordered dropped from the fellowship of the church for various reasons as specified in report, to wit, D. W. TAGUE, Rat SWENY, N. E. TAGUE, Francis M. RAGAN, Martha BLANKENSHIP, Mary H. BLANKENSHIP, Isaac BRAZELTON, Mag BRASELTON, Rebeca DAVIS, Elizabeth RANEY, Safrona CARPENTER, Bell SAMPSON, and Jennie GALLIMORE, and it was further ordered that the clerk correspond with the following named persons and report the result of said correspondence. E. R. HILL, Sally EADOR, Zerelda GADDY (now Zerelda ZENOR), Norman GRAHAM, Leli BUTLER, Araminda WILSON, Alvin LOWERY, and William COX and further the enquiry laid over until next meeting in regard to the following persons: Araminda E. TATE, Luann DEPUTY, Bell BYFIELD, Elvery JOHNSON & Mary Ellen DEPUTY. The financial question then taken up and upon a vote of the church ordered that Brother John TOBIAS and Sister Betsy shall circulate subscriptions and get what assistance they see proper to raise funds necessary to defray the expences of the church for the year now entered upon and further Brother Allen PHILLIPS asked the propriety of electing another trustee to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Brother Samuel MALCOMB, the consideration of which was laid over until next meeting. Adjourned to met first Saturday in August 1884.

Coffee Creek Baptist Church met in regular session after sermon by the pastor. Bro. Lott RANDOLPH minutes of previous meeting called for read and approved. Report accepted in regard to communicating with certain absent members and in regard to certain ones laid over for consideration next meeting as follows: Norman GRAHAM, Lell BUTLER, Aramilda WILSON, William COX, Aramanda E. TATE, Lusann DEPUTY, Bell BYFIELD, Elvira JOHNSON and Mary Ellen DEPUTY. Also, the consideration of electing another trustee a letter was then presented to the clerk prepared per the Association and approved when the delegated names were inserted who were then appointed as follows: W. H. DIXON, Frank PHILLIPS, S. S. STRIBLING, Charles WRIGHT, Travanion TOBIAS, Elias ABRAMS, and B. J. GADDY. Collection for minutes $1.65. adjourned to meet first Saturday in September 1884. Letter presented by the clerk to the association September 3 and two dollars for minutes balance being raised.

Coffee creek Baptist Church met in regular session. After sermon by the pastor Brot. RANDOLPH, minutes of previous meeting called for, read and approved. References taken up and disposed of as follows: By request letter granted to Sister Bell BYFIELD, Elmira JOHNSON and Aramilda WILSON. Dismissed Mary Ellen DEPUTY, Araminda E. TATE, and William CASE and committee appointed to confer with Brother Norman GRAHAM and Sister Lell BUTLER and report next meeting also ordered that Sister Elvira DIXON receive a letter of dismissal. Brother Warren MALCOMB was elected Church Trustee to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Brother Samuel MALCOMB. It was also ordered that any member absenting themselves from the church 12 months without reasonable excuse be excluded from her fellowship. Adjourned to meet first Saturday in Oct 1884.

Coffee creek Baptist Church met in regular session after prayer and a season spent in conference the minutes of previous meeting called for, read, and approved. References taken up and disposed of as follows: Committee reported in regard to Brother Norman GRAHAM absenting himself from the church and excuse being unable to get clothing fit to attend church and it was ordered by a vote of the church that the membership raise money by the next meeting to buy Brother GRAHAM a suit of clothes respectable enough to attend church and upon report of committee the case of Sister Lell BUTLER was laid over until next meeting. Brother ABRAMS gave notice of his resignation as housekeeper. Adjourned to meet first Saturday in November 1884.

1st day Coffee creek Baptist Church met in regular session after sermon by the Pastor, Brother RANDHOLPH, minutes of previous meeting read and approved. 2nd the case of Brother Norman GRAHAM taken up and the act rescinded in regard to buying him a suit of clothes. Sister Lell BUTLER present her name passed as a reference on the minutes. It was ordered that the male members should meet on Saturday the 15th day of November and prepare wood and repair the windows of the meetinghouse. Adjourned to meet first Saturday in December 1884

Coffee Creek Baptist Church met in regular session after a short time spent in conference the peace of the church called for by the moderator, Brother Allen PHILIPS rose up and requested that his name and Sister Sarah Ann PHILLIPS name be dropped from the fellowship of the church. It was ordered by the church that the request be granted. Minutes of previous meeting then called for and approved. Request presented by Brother Travanion TOBIAS for a letter of Dismissal for Brother Merit TOBIAS which was granted. Brother John TOBIAS presented his resignation as Treasurer and collector which was accepted and Brother Warren MALCOMB was elected to fill the place. Adjourned to meet first Sunday in January 1885.

Friday before the first Saturday in August 1885
To the Coffee Creek Baptist Association when assembled at New Prospect,
Coffee Creek Baptist Church sendeth greetings.
Dear Brethren in Christ:
We hear nothing of special to write you at this time. Our church seems to be in a dormant state, although the members are at peace with each other yet we have not made the growth in grace that is our privilege, neither have we made any growth in numbers. We send as messengers, W. W. DIXON, W. D. RANDOLPH, O. T. PHILLIPS, S. S. STRIBLING, W. L. MALCOMB, and Thomas DEPUTY. Our statistics are 111 members. Dismissed by letter 4, dropped, 2, died 1. Maria TOBIAS died June 1885 of paralysis.

First Saturday in September 1885
Church met and after sermon by the pastor, minutes of August meeting read and approved. Committee on surveying lot reported ground not surveyed and was continued for another month. Committee appointed to see Bro. W. McGANNON reported having talked with him and he confessed the wrong and promised to make his confession to the church. He not being present the church gave him another month to attend to it. On motion letters were granted to Sisters Lucinda DEPUTY and Maggie TOBIAS.

Church met and after sermon by the pastor minutes of previous meeting read and approved. Committee on surveying continued. Bro. Walter McGANNON made his confession which was accepted and he is continued in full fellowship. Church agreed to meet on third Saturday in Oct. to prepare wood for the winter.

Church met and after sermon by Rev. S. Randolph, minutes of previous meeting read and approved. There being no business church adjourned to meet first Saturday in January 1886. There was a meeting in the month in which the church was somewhat revived and 4 were added to the church.

Coffee Creek January 2, 1886
Church met and proceeded to business with Bro. E. ABRAMS in the chair. Bro. S. RANDOLPH tendered his resignation as pastor of the church. Accepted by vote of the church. Motion carried that the church borrow ($4.00) four dollars of proceeds from the festival of Bro. Warren MALCOMB to be applied on the account due Rev. S. RANDOLPH. Moved that the church meet Saturday Jan. 9th at 2 p.m. for the purpose of calling a pastor. Upon request Sisters Mary CAVE and Nancy TAULMAN and Bro. J. F. WOODFOLK were granted letters of recommendation. Adjourned by motion to meeting January 9, 1886.

Coffee Creek January 16, 1886
Church met pursuant to adjournment. On account very bad weather only a few members present at the meeting appointed for January 9th and they agree to meet January 16, 1886. Proceeded to business by electing Bro. E. ABRAMS moderator. Minutes of previous meeting read and approved. On motion of the church Rev. W. C. GOLDEN was chosen as pastor of the church after which the church purchased an organ of Bro. S. S. STRIBLING giving in exchange a note of $40.00 Forty Dollars which church holds against S. W. DEPUTY. Adjourned to meet 5 Saturday in January 1886.

Coffee Creek January 30, 1886
Church met and after sermon by the pastor minutes read and approved. 1st the clerk and treasurer were appointed to settle with Bro. Lott RANDOLPH. 2nd Bro. W. C. GOLDEN accepted call as pastor at ($10) ten dollars per month. 3rd Brethren Chas. WRIGHT and W. W. DIXON were selected as a finance committee to raise funds for pastor�s salary. 4th Brethren E. ABRAMS and W. W. DIXON were chosen to confer with Lancaster Church to secure a change in their time of meeting so Bro. GOLDEN can preach for us the first Saturday and Sunday in the month. 5th By motion chair appointed W. S. MALCOMB, Henry COLE, Travanian TOBIAS, Chas. WRIGHT, and George DODD a committee to investigate the feelings of the members in regard to place and kind of church. Adjourned to meet February 20 1886.

Coffee Creek February 20, 1886
Church met pursuant to adjournment and aafter calling Bro. E. ABRAMS to the chair minutes of previous meeting were read and adopted. 1st finance committee reported $102.50 subscribed for pastor�s salary. Report accepted and committee continued. 2nd Committee to Lancaster Church reported as having secured the change referred to in previous minutes. Report accepted and committee discharged. 3rd Investigating committee reported having seen the members and that the majority are in favor of building a new church house at Paris Crossing Could not give a decision as to kind of house. Some ant a frame and some a brick. Report received and committee discharged. 4th On motion the church agreed to make arrangements to build a new meeting house. 5th The Brethren Chas. WRIGHT, Geo. DODD and B. BYFIELD were chosen a committee to investigate the cost of building a house 36 x 48 x 18 ft both frame and brick. 6th Brethren Henry COLE and W. W. DIXON were appointed to find out where land can be secured about the crossing on which to build a new church house. 7th Bro. Travanian TOBIAS was instructed to have the church ground run off into lots for burying grounds. After which Sister Emily DEPUTY made some remarks to the church in regard to Christian work. Church met and proceeded to business with Bro. GOLDEN in the chair. Minutes of previous meeting read and approved. Committee on kind of house reported: Church decided to build a frame house on lot designated near Paris Crossing. Committee on soliciting means for new church house appointed, viz: Brethren W. W. Dixon, E. ABRAMS, J. TOBIAS, Chas. WRIGHT and G. DODD. Brethren W. L. MALCOMB, Jno. TOBIAS and B. F. BYFIELD were appointed building committee. Adjourned.

Coffee Creek April 3, 1886
Church met and pastor being absent proceed to business by electing brother J. H. McGUIRE moderator. Minutes of last meeting approved then the report of solicitng committee was called for. Bro. D. W. DODD reported $410 subscribed and Sister COLE $285. The church authorized each member to solicit menas for the new church and rep on the same to the proper committee, after which Bro. G. W. DODD was chosen to fill Bro. W. W. DIXON�s place as collector of pastor�s salary and Sister Henry COLE to fill his place as solicitor of means for the new church. Then the following resolution was adopted: Resolved, that the death of W. W. DIXON, who died March 21, 1886 we sustain the loss of a beloved brother and a valuable member of our church and we heartily express our sorrow in sympathy with his bereft family and amy his untiring zeal for the welfare of the church inspire us to more energy in behalf of Christ�s Kindom on the earth and also may our hopes at the close of life be no less bright than his were.

A mistake being found in the church record in regard to Sister M. E. DEPUTY who received a letter from us in 1873. It was ordered that the part of the record showing her dismissal the minutes of September 1884 be erased. By vote of the church, it was agree to accept the following proposition, made by Bro. U. B. STRIBLING of Madison. Viz: that if the church will put a cellar under the new meeting house, he will furnish a heating furnace for said house and put the same in working order gratis. On motion it was agreed that the soliciting committee report Wednesday night April 14. O. F. Phillips was then reelected church clerk for the coming year. After which the church adjourned to meet first Saturday in May.

Church met and pastor being absent Bro. E. ABRAMS was chosen moderator. Minutes read and approved. Church agreed to erect a brick building instead of a frame one. Bro. Geo. DODD having declined acting as collector of pastor's salary Sister E. J. DIXON was chosen to in his place. Notice was given to elect a trustee to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Bro. W. W. DIXON. The pastor came in during the meeting and after the business was done preached a short sermon.

First Saturday in June 1886
Church met and after prayer and singing Bro. Chas. WRIGHT was chosen moderator then the peace of the church was called for but nothing appeared to mar it. After which minutes of last regular meeting was read and approved. Bro. J. C. TIBBETS and Sisters Jane TIBBETS, Ora CAVE and Lulu BARNES were granted Certificates of Membership and Recommendation. By a vote, Bro. G. DODD was chosen trustee. Committee on state mission work reported nothing collected. Committee discharged a collection was then taken and $1.80 reported. Committee on church subscription reported $080. cash subscribed. On motion it was decided to meet two weeks from today for the purpose of taking any action necessary in the building of the new church house. By motion Bro. J. C. TIBBETS was instructed to write to the Rev. Bro. Emery of Cincinnati authorizing him to collect money to aid our church in building. Adjourned.

Coffee Creek July 3, 1886
First Saturday in the month church met and sermon by the pastor on church covenant minister of previous meeting read and adopted. Church soliciting committee reported about $820.00 cash subscribed. Decided that on July 19th the members meet to remove the old meetinghouse to the place of building. The clerk was then authorized to write the letter to association. Adjourned to meet last Saturday in July.

Coffee Creek July 31, 1886
Last Saturday in the month. Church met at the Paris Crossing School house after singing and prayer proceeded to business by reading minutes of previous meeting which were approved. Then the following committees appointed to committee on missions: Eliza J. DIXON, Ella M. PHILLIPS, Malita MALCOM, Met COLE, to overhaul church book: John TOBIAS, George W. DODD, Chas. WRIGHT, O. F. PHILLIPS. Brethren John TOBIAS, E. W. DODD, W. S. MALCOMB and O. F. PHILLIPS, Sisters Mary DIXON and Malita MALCOMB were chosen delegate to the Association. By the courtesy of Christian Church we are permitted to worship in their church until ours is completed and Robert WASHER is chosen sexton of the same at one dollar per month. Letter to Association read and approved when filled out. Adjourned to meet fourth Saturday in August 1886.

Last Saturday in August 1886
After sermon by Pastor on Articles of Faith proceeded to business. Minutes of last meeting read and approved. Committee on missions reported $8.80. Committee on church book reported and report received. Sisters Betsy HALL, Eliza J. DIXON and Brethren Travanian TOBIAS and O. F. PHILLIPS were appointed to see Eliza CLINES, Margaret CARPENTER, J. Wharton CARPENTER on account of absence and unfavorable reports and clerk was instructed to write Elizabeth TOBIAS, Thomas MONTGOMERY and wife Sally EADOR, Elizabeth DONEHY, Simeon STEWART and wife, Eliza CLINES and Carrie MONTGOMERY, after which Sister Lell BUTLER was excluded for non attendance and unchristian treatment to the committee who visited her. Then the church decioded to use iron roofing provided the committee can dispose of the shingles donated for the roof. Adjourned.

Dear Brethren:
At the present time our church seems to be in a better condition than last year yet we are not doing as much for the cause as it is our priviledge. We feel that we are in the middle of a great financial struggle that building a new church house to be located at Paris Crossing which will probably cost two thousand dollars ($2,000.00) and we desire the aid and prayers of the Association. We have added a few to number by baptism ... have lost some of our best members by death. Statistics:

Wharton CARPENTER reported the charges true and several brethren and sisters substantiating the report. Therefore, on motion he was excluded from our fellowship. Sisters Margarett CARPENTER, Ellen TOBIAS and Lulu BARNES and Bro. J. C. TIBBETS and wife were granted letters of dismission. Adjourned to meet 1st Saturday in Dec. 1886.
