The S.S. Allemannia
had its maiden voyage on 11 May 1865. It could hold a total of 760
passengers and a crew of 90. Its length was only 315 feet and width
41 feet. It carried my Kruse
ancestors from Hamburg on 13 October 1869 to New York Port at Castle
Garden on 28 October 1869.
