Herbert Percival CLOAKE

Herbert was born 1893 in Ashford Kent, the son of Edward Benjamin CLOAKE and Rosa Louisa FLISHER. In 1916 he married Edith Frances UDALL and the couple settled in Wear Bay Crescent Folkestone. Herbert was serving as 3rd Engineer aboard the HTMS THE QUEEN when she was sunk as a result of enemy action. Following the loss of THE QUEEN Herbert continued in the employment of South East and Chatham Railways. In 1927 Herbert, Edith and their daughters Betty and Margaret emigrated to Victoria Australia. Herbert died as a result of an accident in 1932, aged just 39 years.
