it
before
selling
it
to
the
Singletons)
-
this
property
is
now
"the
heart"
of
Bishopville.
The
crossroad
and
the
tavern
became
known
as
"Singleton's
Crossroads"
(present
location
is
the
intersection
of
Main
and
Church
Streets
in
Bishiopville.
Francis,
or
Polly
received
the
property
from
her
husband
in
1800
and
ran
the
tavern
until
her
death
which
occurred
before
February
9
1821,
as
that
is
the
date
that
her
estate
was
sold
to
be
divided
among
her
heirs.
Francis
is
said
to
be
buried
in
the
Singleton
Cemetery
which
now
lies
under
several
stores
"about
the
center
of
the
North
side
of
the
block
between
Church
and
Council
Streets".

Horsepen
Branch.
The
land
was
bounded
by
Robert
Arrants
on
the
south
west
and
East
by
himself,
northwest
by

Blyther.
He
retained
the
rights
to
raise
a
mill
dam
and
flood
the
100
acres
if
he
should
ever
chose
to
do
so.
The
land
was
sold
to
Michel
Watson
who
was
a
neigbor
of
Alexander's
according
to
various
census
records.
This
land
was
likely
part
of
the
inheritance
Alexander
received
in
1835
upon
the
settlement
of
his
father's
