IN THE 27TH YEAR OF HIS AGE
ON WAR THREATENING HE WAS ONE OF
THE FIRST MEN IN THE BRITISH EMPIRE
TO VOLUNTEER FOR ACTIVE SERVICE
AND SERVED AS A CORPORAL IN THE
BEAHUANALAND PROTECTORATE REGIMENT
TO
KNOW HIM WAS TO LOVE HIM.
