247. Hubert Lee5 Webb (Frank Albert4, Caroline3, Peter2, Philip Peter1) He was born 21 May 1914. He was the minister of the First Baptist Church at St. Cloud, Florida, in 1953. He married Margaret Wayman on 16 June 1939 at Newport, Kentucky. [111]

256. Martha Elizabeth5 Long (Bessie Lenore4, Susanna Emma3, Peter2, Philip Peter1) She was born 12 October 1902 at Ripley, Ohio. She died 1 February 1953 at Kansas City, Kansas, and is buried at Memorial Park Cemetery, Kansas City, Kansas.[114]

On 1 January 1927, she married Paul Anthony Vohs at Kansas City, Kansas. He was born 21 May 1897 on a farm about 3 miles south of Paola, KS. He worked at his father's grocery store in Osawatomie and delivered groceries. Paul played baseball on a Paola team in the summer. He graduated from high school in Osawatomie, KS, in May 1918.[115]

He was inducted into the Army (SN4507245) on 6 September 1918 and discharged 15 June 1919. He was assigned to Machine Gun Company, 20th Infantry, 10th Division at Fort Riley, KS. He enlisted (SN6188401) in the Navy Seabees as yeoman 1st class on 13 October 1942 and was discharged as chief yeoman 5 October 1945. He served in the south and southwest Pacific in the 78th Construction Battalion. He returned from the Pacific theater aboard a hospital ship.[116]

He had an athletic scholarship in baseball and wrestling at Kansas State. He attended Kansas State Agricultural College where he majored in Industrial Journalism. He was a charter member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity at Kansas State. While at Kansas State he earned his "K" as a baseball pitcher in 1924. He received his Bachelor of Science degree on 3 June 1926. He met the sister (Martha Long) of one of his fraternity brothers and married her when he finished his degree.[117]

He was a reporter for the Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Journal 1924-25 and a reporter, city and news editor for the Parsons, Kansas Daily Sun 1926-28. He was a general assistant at the George H. Long Mortuary in Kansas City, KS, in 1928. He graduated for the Williams Institute of Embalming and Mortuary Science, Kansas City, Kansas, on 23 March 1934.[118]

From 1938 to 1942, he was the owner publisher of the Telluride, Colorado, Journal, the Norwood, Colorado, Post-Independent and others merged into the San Miguel County Journal before joining the Seabees. After the war he served as a Training Officer for the Veterans Administration in Kansas City and St. Joseph, Missouri. He worked as Public Information Officer for the Army at the Lake City Arsenal in Independence, Missouri. He was the owner-publisher of The Montezuma Republican at Montezuma, Iowa, from June 1959 to July 1964.[119]

He died 30 July 1974 while vacationing at Laramie, Wyoming, and is buried at Kansas City, Kansas, in the Memorial Park Cemetery.[120]

Paul Anthony Vohs and Martha Elizabeth Long had three children. Paul Anthony Vohs and Edith Alexander did not have children. Edith Alexander had a daughter from her first marriage.
