415. Donald Ralph6 Vohs (Martha Elizabeth5, Bessie Lenore4, Susanna Emma3, Peter2, Philip Peter1) He was born 23 July 1929 at Kansas City, KS. He graduated from Wyandotte High School in Kansas City, KS in 1947. He died of cancer on 19 Septemer 1998. He was buried at the Ozawkie Cemetery, Ozawkie, KS, on 22 September 1998.

He graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor's in Architecture in 1956. From April 1951 to April 1953, he served in the U.S. Army in the Corps of Engineers at Fort Carson, CO, and Fort Riley, KS. He worked as an architect for the Atchison, Topeka and Kansas City Railway from 1956 to 1986, when he retired. He was a registered architect in the State of Kansas.

He married Virginia Rose DeVorss at the Methodist church, Raton, NM, on 21 April 1953. She was born at Yoder, CO. Her parents were Gerald (Jake) DeVorss (born about 1903) and Katherine (Katy) Lindt (born 29 June 1909).[152]

416. Paul Anthony6 Vohs (Martha Elizabeth5, Bessie Lenore4, Susanna Emma3, Peter2, Philip Peter1)He was born at Kansas City, KS, and baptized at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Kansas City, KS. He received his BS degree at Kansas State University, Manhatten, KS, his MS in Zoology at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, IL, and his PhD at Iowa State University, Ames, IA. While at Kansas State he was a member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity.[153]

He enlisted in the Navy in August 1948. He served an eight month tour of duty aboard ship during the Korean War. He was commissioned an ensign in August 1955. He served in the Navy Reserve until June of 1987, when he retired from the reserves as a Navy Captain. In July 1955, he began working with the Illinois Dept. of Conservation, while working on his master's degree. In January 1959, he began working with Dr. Klimstra, an internationally noted wildlife biologist. Later he worked as a professor in the Wildlife Department at Oregon State University, head of the Wildlife Department at the University of South Dakota, unit leader of the Fish and Wildlife Service Cooperative Unit at Oklahoma State University, head of cooperative wildlife units for the Fish and Wildlife Service in Washington, DC, Director of the Denver Wildlife Research Center, as unit leader of the Fish and Wildlife Service Cooperative Unit at Iowa State University, and as a research staff specialist at the Office of Information Transfer at Fort Collins, CO. He was awarded the Professional Achievement Award in Wildlife Administration by the Colorado Chapter of The Wildlife Society in January of 1987. He is the author on numerous scientific publications.[154]

At the time of his first marriage, he lived at Kansas City, KS. He later lived at Manhatten, KS, Carbondale, IL, Ames, IA, Corvallis, OR, Brookings, SD, Stillwater, OK, Fairfax, VA, Denver, CO, and Fort Collins, CO.[155]

He was first married on 19 December 1953 at Kansas City, KS, to Elizabeth (Beth) Gloria Glass by the Reverend Robert H. Bull. Her uncle Albert D. Sutton gave her away. At the time of her marriage her residence was located at 449 North 19th St., Kansas City, KS. She was the daughter of Henry James Glass and Grace Theodora Sutton. Elizabeth Glass was born 11 November 1935 at Kansas City, KS, died August 1960 at Carbondale, IL of undiagnosed diabetes, and is buried at Kansas City, KS. Paul Vohs and Elizabeth Glass had three daughters. After Elizabeth Glass' death, the three daughters lived with their grandfather, Paul Vohs, and his second wife, Edith Alexander, for several years.[156]

Paul Vohs married Lowil Jeanette Kilzer. She was the daughter of Carl Paul Kilzer and Lela E. Kellner. She was born in Nebraska. Paul Vohs and Jeanette Kilzer had twin sons. Jeanette Kilzer adopted Paul Vohs' three daughters and her name appears as their mother on their birth certificates.[157]

488.vDavid Paul Vohs born at Ames, IA (twin brother of Alan Paul Vohs), married at Phoenix, AZ, to Shelia Friedman. She was the daughter of Dolores and Bob Friedman. He graduated from Fairfax High School, Fairfax, VA and from Colorado State University, Ft. Collins, CO with a degree in Engineering.[162]

417. George Francis6 Vohs (Martha Elizabeth5, Bessie Lenore4, Susanna Emma3, Peter2, Philip Peter1) He was born at Kansas City, KS, and baptized in the Methodist Church. He received his BS degree in Technical Journalism form Kansas State University and his MA degree in Journalism and Mass Communications from the University of Iowa.

For 10 years he was employed in various newspaper positions in Anamosa, Montezuma, Waterloo and Perry, IA. He was managing editor of the The Perry Daily Chief, when he became a promotion specialist for the Federal Crop Insurance Corporation, an agency of the U. S. Department of Agriculture.

He served in various management position with the Federal Crop Insurance Corporation including promotion speialist for the Southwest U. S.; marketing director for California-Arizona; Regional Director Texas-New Mexico-Oklahoma; chief of the operations reviw staff and assistant manager for legislationa and jpublic affairs, Washington, DC; and national marketing director, Kansas City, MO until he resigned to return to the private sector.

He was manager of the insurance division for United Agri Products Financial Services (a ConAgra Company) at Greeley, CO. He then purchased the insurance division from UAPFS and established and operated LongView Crop Insurance Agency, Inc., until he retired. He established Vohs Enterprises, Inc, in which he operates as an insurance consultant, author and communications advisor.

He served in the U. S. Naval Reserve for five years and was stationed at Olathe, KS, for a two year active service term, publishing a base newspaper and recruiting Naval Cadets in Kansas and MO.

He established his home in Kansas City, KS, at the time of his marriage to Valera Lea Williams. She is the daughter of Rachel and Charles G. Williams, of Kansas City, KS. She attended Kansas City, Kansas Junior College and Baker University, Baldwin, KS. She was employed with International Harvester. They met while both attending Wyandotte High School, Kansas City, KS.

They lived in Manhattan, KS, while attending school and moved from there to Iowa City, IA, for graduate work. Later, they moved to Anamosa, IA, where he had his first professional position as editor of the Anamosa Newspapers. They lived successively in Montezuma, IA; Waterloo, IA; Perry, IA; Manhattan, KS; Fresno, CA; College Station, TX; Fairfax, VA; Overland Park, KS; and Greeley, CO.[163]

489.iConstance Lea7 Vohs born 20 September 1956, at Manhattan, KS. She graduated with a degree in modern languages from Texas A&M University, College Station, TX. She married John Egland at the United Methodist Church, Greeley, CO. He is the son of John Egland and his wife Delores. She works as office manager for the insurance brokerage of Frank B. Hall & Co. Her husband John is a management executive for Farmers Insurance Group.
490.iiGeoffrey Vohs born at Manhattan, KS. He received his BS degree in civil engineering from the University of Kansas, Lawrence, KS. He is employed as an engineer in the Roads and Bridges Department of the Kansas Highway Commission in Topeka, KS. He lives in Lawrence, KS.
