The picture, left to right, is of Florence Josephine Arp Gaddis, Thomas
Marshall Gaddis, Francis Marion Gaddis, and Laura Ann Arp Gaddis. It was
made sometime in the early 1940's according to Mom at the Marion and Laura
Gaddis home at the Bethel Crossroads where Hwy 274 and Hwy 49 intersected
on Rural Route #2, Clover, York County, SC. The area is now part of Lake
Wylie, SC. Tom Gaddis and Marion Gaddis were brothers, born in Dahlonega,
Lumpkin County, Ga. Tom and Marion Gaddis were the sons of James William
Harshaw Gaddis and Anna Bruce. They were the grandsons of William Isham
Marshall Gaddis and Elizabeth (Reed) Hawks. Also Florence Arp and
Laura Arp were sisters, born in Cherokee County, NC. All their kids were
double first cousins. Florence and Laura Arp were the daughters of
William Alfred Lucius Arp and Mary Ann Kimsey.
