William Benton "Squire"
McAnelly, Sr. was born 20 July, 1842, Chireno, Nacogdoches County,
TX. He served in Co. 1, 4th TX Cavalry, CSA, from 1861 to May,
1865. On 16 January, 1866, he married Missouri Orlina Pate.
They moved to Hamilton County in December, 1873. Missouri was the
mother of six children and died 6 February, 1878. On July 20. 1879,
Squire married Martha Webber in Hamilton County, TX. Martha was the
mother of seven children. Martha died Nov. 22, 1907, and Squire died
in November, 1923. William Benton, Missouri, and Martha were buried
in Bulman Cemetery.
