Hamilton
will be having another fine suburban home in the not too distant future.
The Dr. Crouches are having a new home built out Highway 281 about three
miles north of town. It is located just north of the Lee Parrish home.
Their
home will be a five bedroom, two story brick with a basement. The house
is built on the slope of a hill which makes the basement easily
accessible either from the ground level or through the house. A porch
goes completely across the front of both levels and then goes into a
large balcony off the second floor across the south end of the house.
This will make an excellent place for outdoor living, as it will be
shaded on the west and open on the south and east to catch the summer
breezes. The house is located back from the highway in a fine group of
oaks.
The
outside of the house is practically finished, but it will be some time
before the Crouches can move in.
Don
Thomas, a brother-in-law of the Crouches, is the contractor, but he does
not get to put in full time on the work, and he will be the one to do
much of the finish work.
Mr.
Thomas was a contractor in
New Mexico
when he received an injury that made it nearly impossible for him to
continue in that profession. He is here now, and, while directing the
work on the house, he is also taking a pre-med course at
Tarleton
State
University
.
The
Crouches have two daughters, Sarah and Esther, and a son, Mark, who are
also students at Tarleton.
The
people of the
First
Baptist
Church
were happy to have their former pastor and family, the George Gastons,
back with them for a service recently.
One
didn’t have to guess which college he attended when he “announced”
that
Baylor
University
would be playing in the Cotton Bowl this year. But he worked it in real
well by stating how determination to win had led to victory, and that
the church should have a determination to win under the leadership of
their new pastor, Tim Moody, when he begins his new ministry on December
14th.
You
will probably he hearing other local Baylorites “announcing” that
Baylor will be playing in the Cotton Bowl on New Year’s Day.
Speaking
of the Tim Moodys, they will move to
Hamilton
this week and will be living in the Travis Moore home at 403 W. Baker.
This is one block south of the Hillcrest Nursing Home. The Travis Moores
are living in their new home on Navajo Trail in the Indian Oaks
Addition. It is located between the homes of Pastor Wuensche and Danny
Sparks.
