CORBETT & FAYE HOLT

Across the Fence

By Arvord Abernethy

I would like for you to meet Mr. and Mrs. Corbett Holt who have retired and recently moved to their new home at 605 Barkley Drive.

In a way Mrs. Holt, Faye, is moving back home. She is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alec Lee of the Indian Gap community, where she attended and finished school. She is the sister of Floyd Lee and Mrs. Elma Colwell, both of Hamilton .

Mr. Holt is a native of Arkansas , but was working in San Angelo when he met and Married Faye in 1936. Shortly afterwards, he was employed by the Santa Fe Railway in the Special Service Department. This work moved them around some, and they have lived in Albuquerque , Belen and Raton , New Mexico , as well as La Junta, Colorado.

During our visit with them we learned that they were members of a church in Albuquerque and my brother was their pastor.

Mr. Holt retired from the Santa Fe in 1972 and they moved to northeastern Oklahoma . He had lived in that section as a young man, and there are many lakes and fishing places, but last year they decided to move back to Hamilton .

Hope you can meet this fine couple soon.
