TALBOT ABERNETHY
ACROSS THE FENCE
By Arvord Abernethy
Right after voting last Tuesday morning, we left in the rain for Nacogdoches, down in the piney woods of East Texas. We had to see our windshield wipers practically all the way, often saying, "I hope it is doing this back in Hamilton." Most of the places down there reported from 1.50 to 2.50 inches of rain.
My oldest brother, Talbot, who is 80 and his wife, Aileen, retired this spring and moved to an old home that they had been restoring. They are as thrilled and proud of their new home as a new bride and groom. But they will need about another 20 years to do all that they have planned.
