CARLTON HIGH SCHOOL FRESHMEN

 

Freshman Class Roll

 

 

 

The roll of the Carlton High School freshman class is as follows:

 

Vernon Pruitt, Creola Chick, Clarence Smith, Wayne Cook, Geneva Kerley, Bonnie Thompson, Margrette Wright, Billie Mart McPherson, Daymond Weaver, Dick Sharp, Arietta Hickman, Mozelle Stephens, Jack Butler, Wilford Hickman, Maxine Fine, May Ray, Lucille Profitt.

 

Our class president is Daymond Weaver; only two have gone from the first grade to their present standing together. The other passengers boarded the train on down the line.

 

Our first and second grade teacher was Miss Richey. Our third grade teacher was Miss Faye Overby; fourth grade, Miss Bonnie Belle Moore; fifth and sixth grades, H. J. McAllister, and our present home room teacher is H. C. Kennedy.

 

The children who started in the first grade were together until we reached the third grade. Some of them moved away but there were others to take their places. These new pupils were Arietta and Wilford Hickman, Bonnie Thompson, and May Ray. When we were in the sixth, Geneva Kerley and Creola Chick became our classmates. Daymond Weaver also started here in the sixth. Jack Butler came into our class this year, as did Mozelle Stephens and Margrette Wright.

 

Freshman Prophecy

 

If we could look forty years ahead, it would be possible that the girls of the freshman class would be engaged in various occupations. For instance we are expecting Lucille Proffitt to be an expression teacher, Bonnie Thompson a stenographer, Margretta Wright a school teacher, Creola Chick an aviatrix, Mozelle Stephens a beauty operator, May Ray a nurse, Maxine Fine a bookkeeper, Geneva Kerley a housewife, Dick Sharp an actress, and Arietta Hickman a cowgirl.

 

For the freshman boys equally interesting things are predicted. About forty years from the present date we are expecting the boys of our class to hold nice positions in life. Some may be school teachers, some farmers, some merchants, and others may hold office jobs that will take care of them when they grow too old for anything else. For instance, we are expecting Jack Butler to be a school teacher, Billie McPherson to be a judge of Hamilton County , Daymond Weaver to be a preacher, Wilford Hickman a doctor, Clarence Smith a lawyer, Wayne Cook a farmer, and Vernon Pruitt a merchant.
