WILLIAM HORSLEY
Superintendent
William Horsley came to Fairy three years ago, and during that time he has
worked unceasingly in the interest of the school and the community. Three
years ago the school had an enrollment of slightly over a hundred and
employed four teachers. It now has an enrollment of two hundred and
employs seven teachers. Affiliation through the ninth grade is almost sure
to be granted at the end of the present school term and assurance of
affiliation through the eleventh grade during the next year or so has been
given by the State Department of Education. Five busses bring in the boys
and girls from the surrounding districts of Falls
Creek,
Meridian
Creek, Agee,
and Long
Point.
Much of
Mr. Horsley’s success has been due to his ability to work with other
people. He is liked by pupils, teachers, and patrons alike, and they are
all pulling for him. The people of the Fairy Community are proud of their
superintendent who has made that progress possible. Mr. Horsley is
considered one of the outstanding rural school men in
Central Texas
