JAMES WESLEY "JIM" CRAIN &
AMANDA ELIZABETH "MANDY" (STRIBLING) CRAIN, 1907

Shared by Jim Perry

This family portrait of Jim and Mandy Crain's family was made in Gatesville, a few weeks prior to their move to Blue Ridge Hamilton County, TX, with Mandy's parents and siblings.

The older son is James Edwin Crain.

The younger son is Robert Verne Crain.

The older daughter is Ruby Pearl Crain.

The younger daughter is Lura Bernice Crain.

The family began their move from Osage on 30 October, 1907, and most arrived at Blue Ridge on 31 October.  James Edwin with his grandfather, Thomas Edwin Stribling, had to purchase a new cook stove in Gatesville, thereby delaying their arrival at Blue Ridge until 1 November, 1907.

The family became active in community affairs and in the Blue Ridge Baptist Church.  They remained in Hamilton County throughout their lifetimes.  Jim was a farmer.  Verne was graduated 19 May, 1919, as valedictorian of Hamilton High School.
