THE POEM
Someone, probably Jim Freeman, wrote a long poem about her. It
started something like this:
Everybody knows Wild Bill
Everyday she takes hook and line
Goes to the creek and fishes
In the water that runs Snow’s
Mill.
I had asked Mr. Williams if Snow’s Mill was run by water power and
that caused him to think of this. It probably was not run by water power
because it was on the Pecan and it never had much water. It was located
not far from Rock Church. Snow
lived on the left after you get up the hill after crossing Pecan
Creek. Snow was here when Mr. Williams came, had been for a long time
probably because he had a herd of fine sorrels when Mr. Williams first
came. Sometimes called "Judge" but he wasn’t a judge. People
used any sort of nick name in those days.
