MR. WILLIAMS SIDES WITH LAW AND ORDER

He fell away from the crowd and supported Bird for sheriff from the new faction. He rounded up the cowboys, knew them all for Bird, and as he said, "the salon gang." Bird was elected, served one term. He was a good man and a pretty good sheriff. (My father served briefly under him and I have his picture, hearty looking man, with flowing moustache, big watch fob, etc.) He was living in Dallas two or three years before this.
