He said he had come to see, and I agreed with him, that some of the
ideas of those fellows about preserving this country in its pristine
beauty and its freedom was not all wrong, but it was their way and means
that were wrong. Might have used ballots instead of bullets, but I doubt
it would have done any good. The nesters would have outvoted them.
