WAY MEN WERE IN THE OLD DAYS
He could not recall the name of the poor fellow that he and my father
nursed night about until he was well. They talked it over and said they
would not let him die. (Am inclined to think this man was Old Uncle Andy
Reed, who once lived on the street below us, hauled dirt and so on) He
agreed with me that folks would not do that now.
Mr. Williams said Boynton taught school just before Walker did. The
latter went to Coleman and got elected county clerk. That old Captain
A. W. Watson taught twice "way back yonder." My mother went
to school to him. Believe the family had known him down in the Liberty
Hill country I recall him. For last years he was justice of the peace. Old
one-armed Confederate veteran had Creek and all.)
