THE SILVER DOLLAR SALOON

George Battle did not run the Silver Dollar Salon probably until in the nineties. He ran a wide open place, with gambling and all. He was a pleasant young fellow. He had silver dollars tucked up all around on the walls, etc. He didn’t stay here very long. He was in the building where Harelik’s store is now, probably next to Watson. There are the two-story buildings there.

(I had been told of his saloon before but can’t remember it. Down in the lounge in this bank where I am writing this they now have a big glass sign "The Silver Dollar Saloon." Am sure it was not from the salon here. Am told this probably came from Houston. It is an old bar sign.
