FAIRY FFA reunion held at Schrank Park
The 29th annual Fairy FFA reunion was held Saturday, Aug.
27, at Martin Schrank's camp-ground.
Some students arrived about 5 p.m. to help Martin prepare
the meal and visit. Some 50 students, teachers, parents and friends
gathered around 6 p.m. to visit and eat barbecue chicken and sausage,
black-eyed peas, pasta, corn, pickles, bread and ice tea. Everyone
brought pies, cakes and cookies for dessert.
President Don Bullard was in charge of the business
meeting and Larry Gardner, secretary-treasurer, gave a financial report.
The Class of 1954 was honored and all five graduates were
present. Glenn and Sherry Arrant brought a beautiful decorated cake in
Fairy colors blue and white.
Members of the class were Glenn Arrant of Fort Worth,
Joyce Fields Lowry of Stephenville, Bobbie Prater Morin of Granbury,
Kenneth Knapp of Whitney and Ruth McKandless Coalson of Hamilton.
They voted to have the 30th reunion at the same time and
place in 1995.
Three teachers, Boyd Lowry, Martin Schrank and Bill
McClure, were present.
Author Sullivan was elected president and
Don Haile secretary-treasurer for next year.
The meeting was closed by everyone standing
and singing the Fairy School song.
