PARK HEIGHTS CHURCH OF CHRIST
HAMILTON, 1876--

A Church of Christ was officially organized in Hamilton on the second Sunday of April, 1876, with a congregation of about twenty. The first church was composed mostly of Boyntons, Sparkmans, and Austins. The first elders were J. T. Austin and Charles Milton Boynton and deacons were William Sparkman and J. T. Boynton. A small building was erected on the west side of town and used until the church acquired property in 1884 on Leslie St. at South Reagan Street. The first building at this location faced south, but when it was outgrown, a larger one-room building facing east replaced it. In 1928 classroom were added. A new building was erected in 1936 and the second building was moved behind the new building for classroom space and the entire structure was bricked. An annex was added in 1948 enlarging the auditorium. This church at this location was known as the Reagan Street Church of Christ.
