John Palmer (Pal) Drake of Hico died Oct. 7, at his son's residence. He was 83

Funeral services were held oct. 9 a the First Baptist Church of Hico with Bill Schibler and Charles Grossman officiating. Burial was in Country Oaks Cemetery.

He was born July 1, 1913 in Hamilton County. He was an electrician and had resided in Hico for 60 years. On Oct. 12, 1934 he married Oma Allen. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hico.

Survivors include his wife Oma Drake of Hico; one daughter Betty Tudor of Whitney;two sons, Jimmy Drake of Saginaw and Floyd Drake of Hico; one brother Carl Drake of Gatesville;eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

The family requests memorials to be made to First Baptist Church of Hico, the Cross Timbers Hospice of Stephenville, or a favorite charity.

Oma Zell Allen Drake, 81, died Jan. 14 at Glen Rose Medical Center Nursing Home. Funeral Services were held Jan. 16 at First Baptist Church in Hico with Bro. Charlie Grossman and Bro. Bill Schibler officiating. Burial was at Country Oaks Cemetery in Hico.

She was born April 17, 1918 in Hamilton, the daughter of Roe and Lillian Odessa Allen. She was married to J. P. (Pal) Drake on Oct. 12, 1934. He preceded her in death in October 1996.

Mrs. Drake was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hico.

Three sisters preceded her in death.

Survivors include a daughter, Betty and husband Carlton Tudor of Whitney; two sons, Jimmy Drake and wife Barbara of Saginaw, Floyd and wife Millie Drake of Hico; a granddaughter, Pam Drake of Saginaw; seven grandsons; eleven great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Carl and Inez Drake of Gatesville and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers were her grandsons, Roger Tudor, Roy Tudor, Randy Tudor, Shane Drake, Danny Drake, David Drake and Darren Drake.
