Indian Gap Baptist Church was founded in 1882 and entered the Hamilton County Baptist Association on 7 September, 1883. The 1883 minutes indicated that J. W. Lovelace organized the Indian Gap Baptist Church with 10 members. Early pastors were: 1883--1884--Presley O’Keefe 1886--1890--W. J. Hicks, 1891--1895--J. J. Taylor 1896--1897--W. M.
