LAMPASAS RIVER

The LAMPASAS RIVER wiggles and squirms, bends and turns through Mills, Hamilton, Lampasas, Burnet, and Bell, Counties. This river heads near Caradan in Mills County and passes by Pecan Wells and McGirk before exiting Hamilton County southwest of Evant and winding down to Adamsville and Kempner.

"The Lampasas River heads in Hamilton County near the Murph Kemp home, northwest of McGirk. Crosses the highway between Evant and Star at Jack Shaves farm near Hurst Ranch, goes into Lampasas County though Herman Kried’s ranch, by Adamsville and into Bell County where it meets the Leon."--Doris LaRue Stapleton and Capt.
